Help & FAQ
Quick answers to the most common questions. If you don't see yours, drop us a line.
What sites does it work on?
MangaZine ships with one-click support for the major reader sites — MangaDex, MangaPlus, Viz, Webtoons, Tappytoon, Lezhin, Manta, Tapas, BiliBili Comics, and more. For other sites, grant access on first use through Chrome's permissions prompt; the extension never asks for blanket access.
Why isn't a page being detected?
The detector looks for manga-shaped images: at least 300×400 pixels, with an aspect ratio between 0.5 and 1.5. Thumbnails, banners, and ads filter out automatically. If a real panel is being skipped, try right-clicking the image and using "Translate this image" — that bypasses the heuristic.
My translation looks wrong. What can I do?
Machine translation is imperfect, especially on dialect-heavy or pun-driven dialogue. Two things help: turn on premium models in the popup (Pro tier) — Claude / GPT / Gemini Pro handle nuance better than the standard chain — and submit the page hash through support so we can investigate the OCR or prompt path.
How do quotas work?
Every plan gets a weekly page limit. Free is 200 pages/week, Plus is 1,000, Pro is 4,000, Max is unlimited. Limits reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC. On Pro, the top-tier AI models are capped at 500 translations/week; if you go over, MangaZine quietly switches to the standard model instead of failing. Pages without text and re-reads of pages you already translated don't count.
Is my reading private?
Source images are processed in memory and not persisted on our end. We cache the translation results (text + bounding boxes), keyed by image hash, so other readers of the same page see a faster response. License email and weekly usage counters are stored; browsing history is not. Full details on the privacy page.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the extension popup, head to the License tab, and click Manage Plan — it opens the Polar customer portal where you can cancel, change payment method, or download invoices. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep paid features until then.
Can I export translated pages?
Yes. Open the popup on a translated page and use the export action — it bundles the visible panels with their translations into a single self-contained file you can keep offline.
Still stuck?
Use the support form with the site URL, the page where translation failed, and a screenshot if you can — we read every message. Or email support@mangazine.app directly if you'd rather.
